I saw this mentioned in one other thread but wanted to formally propose it as a feature request to better gauge community interest. There are a few instances where it would be trivial to set up a useful app for Tidbyt using commercial (i.e. non-free) APIs and the community could simply crowdfund the subscription cost of the data feed.
If a developer wanted to build an app for the device but doesn’t have an existing app on iOS/Android, selling/deploying directly to Tidbyt users could be really useful. Hope you’ll consider!
